Engagement guide
From first enquiry to written plan
Financial advice here is appointment-led. This page explains the rhythm of a Meridian Trust consultation so you know what happens before you pay a deposit.
-
Triage call (complimentary)
Fifteen minutes by phone to confirm we are the right practice for your question—retirement sequencing, inheritance talk, protection audit, or owner-manager cash-flow. If we are not, we say so.
-
Engagement letter & deposit
You receive a short letter describing scope, fee, and deliverables. A fifty percent deposit reserves diary time for fixed-fee work.
-
Paperwork desk
We send a checklist: pension statements, forecasts, policy schedules, or management accounts extracts. Incomplete packs delay the first full session—better that than guessing.
-
Working sessions
One or two appointments, in person at 4824 The Drive, North Terry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom or by secure video. We work from your numbers, not generic slides.
-
Written handover
You leave with a map, summary, or playbook. A follow-up call is included where the consultation brief says so. Further work is a new engagement, not an automatic subscription.
What to prepare
- Latest annual statements for every pension
- State Pension forecast if retirement is within ten years
- Mortgage balance and protection schedules for cover reviews
- A month of household spending that feels typical, not aspirational
Where advice stops
We do not draft wills, file tax returns, or arrange insurance policies. When those steps are needed, your written plan will name the next professional to call. That boundary keeps the consultation fee tied to counsel, not product placement.
